There’s something about a still summer afternoon… when the house is quiet, the windows are open, and small touches of red, white, and blue are tucked throughout the home—simple reminders of heritage, tradition, and the passing of seasons.
This Betsy Ross 13 Star tuck pillow features my own original design, created to reflect that feeling—like something set gently along a cupboard shelf or placed inside a basket on an old wooden table. The kind of piece that doesn’t call attention loudly, but instead adds a sense of warmth and history to the space around it.
Crafted from heavy cotton fabric and backed with natural osnaburg, it carries a soft, durable texture that feels both substantial and timeworn. The muted flag design gives it the look of an early American textile, softly aged with time.
Finished with a stained cheesecloth tie, rusty safety pin, twine, and a primitive rusty star accent, it has the character of something handmade and well-loved. A light scent adds an extra layer of warmth, giving it that familiar, comforting feel of a home that’s been lived in and cared for.
