Primitive Farmhouse Goose Shelf Sitter – “EGGS”
A rustic spring accent inspired by early country homes, farmyard charm, and timeworn seasonal décor.
As the seasons begin to shift and the home takes on a lighter, more gathered feel, small touches of spring start appearing—simple pieces tucked onto shelves, resting on hutches, and bringing a sense of warmth and tradition back into the space.
This primitive goose shelf sitter was designed to capture that feeling—like something you might have found in an old farm shop or displayed year after year as part of a well-loved spring collection.
Each piece begins with a carefully sourced plush base and is individually hand-finished in my studio using my own grunging techniques and design process. The result is a softly aged, timeworn character that reflects the look of early handmade décor and nostalgic country displays.
The goose is accented with homespun ribbon, stained cheesecloth, a rustic safety pin, and a distressed fabric tag hand-stamped with the word “silly,” finished with a rusty bell—giving it a touch of playful charm within its timeworn primitive character.
Paired with a solid wood block that I cut, hand-painted, and hand-stamped with the word “EGGS,” this piece creates a simple, old-world vignette perfect for spring decorating.
Muted, neutral tones and intentional distressing give it the appearance of a well-loved antique—easy to blend with primitive, rustic, and farmhouse-style homes.
