Bring the warmth and nostalgia of an old-fashioned country Thanksgiving to your home with this handmade feedsack-inspired shelf sitter pillow.
Inspired by vintage American feed and seed sacks, old country store advertising, and the simple charm of farm life, this small decorative pillow was created to have the character of a treasured textile from days gone by. Softly faded graphics, aged coloring, rustic texture, and a deliberately timeworn finish give it an authentic primitive appearance that blends beautifully with early American, farmhouse, and country décor.
This is a newly handmade decorative pillow created from new materials and designed to capture the look and character of an aged vintage feedsack. It is not made from an actual antique or vintage feedsack.
Measuring approximately 9" wide x 12" tall, this small pillow is made especially for shelf and vignette decorating. Tuck it into an old basket, display it with crocks and woodenware, lean it against a vintage scale, place it on a cupboard or bench, or nestle it among your favorite Thanksgiving and autumn treasures.
The front is made from heavy cotton fabric featuring my own exclusive feedsack-inspired design. The reverse is finished in a heavyweight textured natural cotton canvas, chosen for its substantial feel and wonderfully rustic character. The heavier fabrics give the pillow beautiful body and texture while enhancing its old-fashioned, utilitarian appearance.
The aged and imperfect appearance is intentional. These pillows are created to look old, worn, faded, and well-loved rather than new and perfectly pressed. Wrinkles, creases, natural fabric texture, variations in the weave, distressed printing, uneven coloration, and other timeworn characteristics are intentional elements of the primitive design and are not considered flaws.
Each pillow is individually handmade and hand finished, so no two will be exactly alike. These variations give each piece its own character, much like an old textile that has softened and aged over time.
